"Antigua Hacienda San Mateo" is a stunning venue renowned for its picturesque landscapes and its rich historical significance.
Between 1868 and 1914, Hacienda San Mateo in Atlixco, Puebla, emerged and solidified its position as one of the country's primary wheat milling centers. Thanks to the continuous and extensive development efforts of Emilio Maurer, the hacienda not only housed a mill but also encompassed wheat-producing farms, guaranteeing a steady supply of raw materials.
Today, this historic hacienda is home to "Cervecería 5 de Mayo." Fermented at high temperatures and crafted with water from the region, the brewery's two beers, Saga and Osadía, boast delightful fruity flavors. It's certainly worth preparing for a tour of the facilities.
